Product Review | b·liv O² Bubbly Bright Mask

When skin care brand b·liv reached out to see if I would be interested in trying out one of their products, as a beauty lover I was not going to say no! I was not only excited but also intrigued as b·liv was a brand I’d never heard of before, even in the realms of Insta and social media in general.

B·liv are a Southeast Asian company who specialise in pore management solutions (who doesn’t want those right?) and produce a range of products that target all manor of skin care issues from anti-aging to dehydration and acne. With the tag line ‘Healthy Pores, Healthy Skin’ they sounds like they’ve got a clear plan of attack!

So the product I was sent to try was their O² Bubbly Bright Oxygenating Mask, a 50g pot which claims to…

“Give your skin a new breath of life with this purifying mask that combines oxygen bubble and rice powder to brighten and enliven complexion.”

The key ingredients involved are O² Bubbles to purify, Rice Powder to brighten and Red Cellulose Bead to exfoliate. It all sounded very promising and those are all factors I’m eager to incorporate into my skin care routine. Presentation wise the product packaging is very minimalist and non offensive and feels decent quality.

So, onto the product itself! The mask comes in the form of a pale pink, mousse like cream which is extremely lightweight and full of air bubbles. Quite fitting considering the name. It also has sparse specks of tiny red beads throughout, which are designed to melt whilst on the skin and exfoliate. This mask is lightly fragranced and the scent reminds me of The body Shop’s Vitamin E range which I’m a big fan of. In the box was a little spatula which is great for dispensing the products considering hygiene. Application wise b·liv recommend to apply a small amount onto the face and massage in gently then leave on for 5-10 minutes. I’m not sure whether this is supposed to be onto wet or dry skin so I’ve been applying to dry.

As I’ve massaged it into my skin I’ve been loving the velvet like feel it has. It’s easy to spread and work into the face. The tiny red beads disappear into nothing then the magic happens! During the time it sits on the skin it begins to transform from a cream into a lovely bubbly veil, and you can actually feel the gentle tickle of the bubbling process as it’s begins to happen. I don’t know how it does it but I really enjoy it! I’ve been letting it sit on the skin whilst I wash my body or rinse out conditioner in the shower and once the mask has completely bubbled up I then massage it back into the skin, which it a very satisfying feeling. It turns back into a smooth velvet like cream in an instant and washes away with ease using a damp washcloth.

So how does it make my skin feel? Whilst using it, it feels wonderful. The texture is luxurious and I thoroughly enjoy massaging it into the face and feeling the bubbling process begin. I can’t honestly say though that I feel that the little red beads do anything in the way of exfoliating as they are not hard like conventional exfoliators are, however the product information states that the beads release Vitamin E oil, acting as an antioxidant to rejuvenate the skin. So not really sure where the exfoliating part comes into it. Other than that my skin is left feeling really plump and hydrated which may be down to the hyaluronic acid the mask contains. Apparently the oxygen bubbles are supposed to diffuse oxygen into the skin, aiding the production of collagen. From the before and after below you can see that there is very minimal difference in the appearance of my skin (lighting situation aside) but I definitely feel the effects can be more felt than seen.

Overall I think this mask would be fab for dry, dehydrated skin as definitely give an instant boost of hydration. In fact all skin types may enjoy it! A little goes a long way too which isn’t  bad thing as this mask retails at US$39 which is just under £30. However if you are interested in grabbing a pot to try it appears to be on offer on the b·liv website for US$25 which is just shy of £19. I’m struggling to find an UK retailers that stock this brand though so on-line would probably be the best source if you’re here in the UK.

I would love to hear if anyone else has experienced or tried any of the products from the b·liv range. Let me know in the comments section below and thanks for reading!

With love as always
