As a lover of facial mists, Mario Badescu’s Rosewater Facial Spray was high on the list of products I wanted to try. As like many products it was one that was splashed all over the internet and has been labelled as many people’s holy grail. Being a rose scented lover myself it was definitely something that I was willing to make space for in my cabinet. In case you don’t happen to be familiar with this cult skin care product, I’ll explain a little further.
What? – A light facial mist full of hydrating ingredients designed to refresh and revitalise, leaving a dewy, radiant glow.
Why? – Packed with botanical ingredients including Aloe, Rose, Thyme and Gardenia that sooth and re-energise the skin.
How? – Can be used to refresh skin through the day, under or over make up. Under make up it will add an extra boost of hydration, and over make up to set and tone down any unwanted powdery finish. It can also be used on the hair to reduce flyaways and refresh styles!
As far as application goes the product is dispensed from a frosted plastic pump bottle with a traditional spray head. The mist itself it quite fine and covers the face pretty well in one squirt. You can instantly smell the aroma of floral rose which I adore and actually find quite calming. Even if this spray had no beneficial skin properties I’d still use it just for the scent alone! I can’t really identify with any herbal or aloe though fragrance wise. I generally use this after toning and having applied serums as a quick boost before popping on moisturiser, it sinks in very quickly and leaves no greasy or tackiness behind. This would be the sort of thing I’d take on a sun holiday as I think it would be fab to use poolside on a hot day as a quick pick me up.
Looking through a few of the Q&A’s on Mario Badescu’s site I’ve also learnt that their Rosewater Facial Spray is suitable for all skin types, can be used to dampen make up sponges and brushes (which I think I’m going to give a try), is alcohol and oil free and is cruelty free and vegan too! By the majority of online reviews being just over 4.5* it seems that everyone is loving it! If it so happens that you are not a fan of rose scented products, there are other versions available including Chamomile & Lavender and Cucumber & Green Tea.
Overall I must say I like this mist. For me it’s not a total game changer when it comes to skin care in general, but it certainly hits the nail on the head when it comes doing what it says on the tin as a refresher and hydrator. The 118ml version I have will set you back around £7.00, or there is a larger 236ml version available for £11.00 so neither are extortionate. It can be purchased from Beauty Bay here.
Are any of you guys a fan of Mario’s Rosewater Facial Spray? I’d love to hear from you!
