Eye Eye Captain…

Rain rain go away! 🌧

Just glimpsing through the little collection of eye cream samples I’ve collected through my beauty boxes and gift sets, and have realised I’ve been lucky enough to receive some really great, high end products to try. Even though I’m in my late 20’s and don’t suffer from huge under eye issues, just a few fine lines, I’m still eager to look after the skin I’ve got and hold back the wrinkly hands of time for as long as possible!

After dabbling with each of these, only one of these products has given me any noticeable difference so far, mainly in sensation after use rather than visual results. That being the Oolution Eye Love Contour Cream (Glossybox RRP £30 for 15ml). It has a lovely light cream/serum like texture, gliding onto the skin. You can feel the effects instantly, giving a plumping and slight but comfortable tightening sensation. However sadly this doesn’t sit well under my foundation/concealer which is a bit of a bummer, and leaves me using it as a night cream rather than day.

Both the Clinique Repairwear Anti-gravity Cream (RRP £38 for 15ml) and the Bobbi Brown Extra Eye Repair Cream (RRP £46 for 15ml) are both thicker and creamier in consistancy and feel much more heavy duty. Probably my less preffered samples as I feel thicker creams are harder to work into the delicate undereye skin. I find that the Bobbi Brown cream pulls when applying, the Clinique is a little easier to work with. However both sit well under make up but no major visible difference for me. Plus a risidual tackiness seems to linger with both.

The 111Skin Space Defence Bright Eye Lift Gel (RRP £110 for 15ml) has the best consistancy out of all 5 products. It is silky smooth and gives a gorgeous primer like finish to the skin. Its not heavy and virtually disappears into the skin instantly. All things I would expect from a skincare product in this price range.

Last but by no means least, onto the Benefit It’s Potent! Eye Cream (RRP £28 for 14.2g). Again a light creamy serum like texture, nice to apply and moves well. It does take a little while to sink in but when it does make up applies well over the top.

If money was no object I would definitely reach for the 111Skin gel, purely because of the sheer feel and luxuriousness of this product. It truely is beautiful! But as my purse strings only stretch so far I’m overall more drawn to the Benefit It’s Potent! It’s easy to work with, has the texture I prefer and is by far the most affordable! If the Oolution Eye Love didn’t move under my make up things might be different!

I really hope you’ve enjoyed my very first little post, and I’d love to hear some of your recommendations and reviews on these creams! I’m by no means an expert when it comes to such products, but love exploring them and sharing my thoughts with you all.

Until next time…

Louise x

Hey hun it’s Katy from Instagram, I loved your first blog & thought you have done an amazing job! You truly write so well & I enjoyed learning about the eye creams & your thoughts on them. I would recommend always using eye cream at night as they are of a thicker consistency compared to a normal face moisturizer, but if you want to use in day time before make up I was informed by a lovely lady at Clarins to give eye cream/serum a good 30-1 hour to soak in before applying make up. Hope that was of help to you & can’t wait to read your next one. Luv Katy xx

Loved reading your first post. Eye free have always been something of a mystery to me… Never sure what I should be looking for. I have the same 111 sample. But haven’t used it much. I will definitely try it more now. Looking forward to more posts. 😊
